The Eastern Shore Musical Theatre Collective is a BRAND NEW group to the Shore for the 2023-2024 school year. This group is open to students from GBJH, OPA and ESDH in grades 7-12 and is provided through the Halifax Regional Arts programming and HFX Supplementary funding. 

WHEN? This group will meet once a week on Wednesdays afterschool from 3:30-4:45pm. (Time may be altered once we start, depending on bus schedule and the arrival time of students at GBJH and OPA). We will meet in the ESDH Music room (room 119). 

A bus will be designated at both GBJH and OPA for students to take to ESDH on those days. More information on this will begiven in September. 

COST: FREE!

WHAT IS THE MUSICAL THEATRE COLLECTIVE? A singing and performing group dedicated to showcasing popular songs and those from Musical Theatre. This group will involve theatre/drama warm-ups and exercises, singing together and basic dance routines. Students will be expected to participate fully in all activities and can expect to perform at 2-3 concerts/showcases a year to begin.

WHO IS THIS BAND FOR? Any Grade 8-10 band student who is currently enrolled in their band program at school. 

DO I NEED TO AUDITION? No! Just register online so we can be ready for you! 

WHAT IS THE JUNIOR BAND? The Junior Band is a band made up of Grade 8-10 band students from across HRM. Do you enjoy playing your instrument? Looking for a bit more of a challenge, and to try some new music - this group is for you! 

The Intermediate Band aims to challenge keen students and provide a supportive atmosphere for students who are looking to learn more music. You do not need to be a world class performer, just keen on learning more and ready to meet new people. The Intermediate Band plays in concerts and sometimes goes on trips to other schools in HRM. It's a fun group meant to celebrate our rising middle school players.
